Creator Lab

Uplifting ocean creators to make collective change for planet ocean

Futureswell’s Creator Lab is an 8 week accelerator equipping ocean conservation creators with the storytelling skills, campaign strategy, and long-term clarity on their role within the collective mission.

Through mentorship, training seminars, and leading their own narrative project, creators graduate with the tools to drive systemic progress for planet ocean – by shaping public perspective on the issues that matter most.

The inaugural 2026 cohort is accepting applications until May 15, 2026!

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and will close when all spots are filled.

  • The 2026 Creator Lab will take place over 8 weeks from June 15, 2026 to August 10, 2026. The course will meet virtually on Monday’s over Zoom, with timing to be determined based on applicant locations.

  • This course is live, virtual, and interactive, with outside coursework weekly. Students will be expected to join seminars, read and consume prep materials, and complete a course-long narrative project including four pieces of content in partnership with FutureSwells production team.

Creators should expect to commit 5-10 hours per week, have strong time management skills, and be committed to meeting course requirements.

  • We are looking for creators already committed to online storytelling as a change making blueprint for planet ocean. Ideal applicants will be studying or working in conservation, interested in long-term content creation, and are looking to make a bigger difference in systems change for the ocean. This course is meant to upskill those individuals through training and mentorship, as well as broaden their network to support ocean advocacy efforts.
